1 dead. 1 injured in Madison Co. following shooting, house fire [Video]

UPDATE June 29, 5:05 p.m.: According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, at 5:05 p.m., a body was located inside of the house located in the 300 block of Jeremiah Drive.

According to officials with the sheriff’s office, the fire has been burning since around 2:00 p.m., and parts of the house are still on fire. Water is being brought in due to a lack of fire hydrants near the home, the office reports.

An investigation is ongoing.

Original: One person has been taken to the hospital following a shooting in Madison County, and crews are currently working to extinguish a house fire at the scene of the incident, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports.
