10 South Carolina students, bus driver injured in I-10 crash [Video]

Eleven passengers on a bus taking University of South Carolina students to New Orleans are in hospitals after that bus crashed on Interstate 10 in Mississippi.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s website, that crash happened at the Diamondhead exit in Hancock County, about 13 miles east of the Louisiana state line.

Our partners at NOLA.com report that the bus flipped around 3:30 p.m. Friday, throwing the driver from the bus and blocking traffic on I-10. Nine students were taken to the hospital by ambulance. A 10th student and the bus driver were airlifted to hospitals.

The crash remains under investigation.
