16-year-old girl killed in Minnehaha County UTV accident [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A teenage girl is dead and a 30-year-old man is in critical condition after a UTV accident in Minnehaha County on Saturday.

According to the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just before 7 p.m.

A UTV with two occupants was traveling northbound on 487th Avenue south of 253rd Street when it entered the ditch causing it to roll.

One of the occupants, a sixteen-year-old female, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

The other occupant, a 30-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, The South Dakota Highway Patrol, Garretson Ambulance, Garretson Fire and Rescue, and MedStar Ambulance assisted with this incident.

The accident is being investigated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
