2 people struck, killed in hit-and-run crash on Routes 5/15 in East Hartford [Video]

EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – State police said they are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that involved pedestrians on Routes 5/15 southbound in East Hartford.

Troopers identified the people who died as Moncrieffe Marion, 18, of Hartford, and 21-year-old Jaheem Emmanuel Miles, also of Hartford.

The collision, which involved three vehicles and two pedestrians, happened near exit 90 at Silver Lane on Thursday morning.

According to state police, a Honda Accord was disabled on the highway, just south of the ramp from Interstate 84 westbound. It was in the right lane of two.

The driver of a second vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, drove in the right lane.

Three people who were in the Accord had relocated to the right shoulder, trooper said.
