29th Annual Ride for Missing Children Moving Through Mohawk Valley | Community [Video]

UTICA, N.Y. — The 29th annual Ride for Missing and Exploited Children is moving through the roadways of the Mohawk Valley, spreading the crucial message of child safety.

Riders are making stops at various schools with powerful messages.

Friday morning started with a ceremony at Sauquoit Elementary School, where Dusty Wood, the older brother of Sara Ann Wood, presented a wreath.

Riders set off from the elementary school just before 8 a.m. for an 83-mile journey.

The ride honors missing or abducted children nationwide, including Heidi Allen, sister of Lisa Buske, who was kidnapped on Easter Sunday in 1994 in New Haven, New York, Oswego County.

Buske shared the profound significance of this ride for her.

This year, a team from CBS’s 48 Hours is accompanying the ride to document it for a special episode.
