3 months after opening, UofL South Hospital already making big impact in Bullitt County | News from WDRB [Video]

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — UofL Health South Hospital has been open to patients for just three months but it’s already making a big difference. So much so, in fact, that a medical building across the street in Shepherdsville was recently purchased to bring in more doctors to serve Bullitt County.

UofL Health opened the fast-track emergency room at the facility off Interstate 65 in October 2023. But the rest of the hospital opened to the community earlier this year. The $78 million hospital includes a 10-bed intensive care unit, enhanced heart care services, expanded emergency capabilities, expanded cardiopulmonary services, a state-of-the-art pharmacy and more.

There are 40 beds for in-patient care, but over the years, that could balloon to nearly 100 beds.
