ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A toddler was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital after a “tragic accident” at West Point Lake, according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday, deputies were called to the lake’s Yellow Jacket Beach near 6:20 p.m. The 3-year-old had been pulled from the water, and bystanders were performing CPR, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies and other first responders took over the lifesaving measures when they arrived. The child is still receiving treatment, and their condition is unknown.
