FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — More relief is on the way for Kentuckians impacted by torrential storms and tornadoes in April.
According to a news release, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on Tuesday that two new Disaster Recovery Centers have been completed in the Commonwealth, with two more to be finished by Friday.
According to FEMA, Disaster Recovery Centers serve not only as a refuge for survivors of tornadoes and damaging storms, but recovery assistance personnel will be stationed at each center to evaluate survivors’ needs, “such as childcare, transportation, medical needs, funeral, or dental expenses.”
Disaster Recovery Centers were built in Boyd and Henry counties earlier this week, with two more to be built in Fayette County and Union County on Thursday and Friday, according to a news release.
