42-year-old killed in Allentown pedestrian crash, cops say [Video]

A 42-year-old Lackawanna County man was killed Tuesday evening while walking on a busy Allentown street, city police said.

Li-Qiang Hu of South Arlington Township died from multiple traumatic injuries after he was hit by a car, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. The manner of death was accidental, he said.

Allentown Police Capt. Kyle P. Pammer said Hu was struck before 10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Hamilton Boulevard. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, Pammer said.

Police said the person who drove into Hu is cooperating in the investigation.

The accident is being investigated by the Allentown Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit; the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office; and Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
