44 names honored at Maine Murder Victims’ Memorial dedication ceremony | News [Video]

AUGUSTA —  On Sunday afternoon, the Maine Chapter for Parents of Murdered Children, a national organization that provides support to families who have lost loved ones to homicide, added 44 names to their memorial in Augusta — including those killed in the Lewiston mass shooting.

families from across the state gathered at the Holy Family Cemetery for the annual Maine Murder Victims’ Memorial dedication ceremony. 

“We do the re-dedication every year so that people can see the old names too and the names that are already there and its here all the time,” said Co-leader of the Parents of Murdered Children Maine Chapter, Joanna Stokinger. 

The chapter built a monument in 2013 to give grieving families a place to come together and honor their loved ones who died by homicide.
