5th annual Run for Ricks Place begins in Wilbraham [Video]

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The 5th annual Run for Rick’s Place took place on Saturday in Wilbraham.

The 5K race began at 9 a.m., and was established in memory of Rick Thorpe, who died in Tower Two of the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Western Mass News spoke with Therese Ross, the executive director of Rick’s Place, and she told us more about the grief organization.

She told us, “We support children, ages five to 18, and they come on-site and we hold grief groups with the area schools and we provide professional development on the impact of grief on youth.”

In honor of Rick, 160 people showed up and participated in the race.
