86-Year-Old Man Dies at Hospital After Being Hit in the Head by Man of Unsound Mind [Video]

An 86-year-old man who was struck in the head by an individual with mental health issues last Thursday, June 20, passed away at the hospital over the weekend.

He has been identified as Vincent Lewis, residing at a Pollyground address in Ewarton, St Catherine.

According to reports from the Linstead police, the incident occurred around 10:30 am while Lewis was walking along the road in his community. He was assaulted by a mentally challenged man who used a stick to strike him in the head.

Lewis was quickly transported to the hospital where he received treatment and was admitted in critical condition. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday afternoon.

Following an investigation by the police, the mentally challenged individual was taken into custody and is now undergoing treatment.
