Even with Bill Belichick gone, Patriots still trade down in NFL Draft [Video]

You can take Bill Belichick off the New England Patriots, but you can’t quite take away the urge to trade down in the NFL Draft.

The Patriots made a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers on Day 2 of the Draft, dealing away the No. 34 pick along with the No. 137 pick in exchange for the No. 37 pick and the No. 110 pick.

In essence, the Patriots moved back three spots in the second round to move up 27 spots in the fourth round.

The Patriots now hold Pick No. 37 and No. 68 on Day 2. They also hold picks No. 103, No. 110, No. 137, No. 180 and No. 193 on Day 3.

The deal marks the Patriots’ first draft-day trade since the departure of Belichick, who was famous for wheeling and dealing picks — often to move down in the draft.
