Ex-sheriff accused of buying classic cars with EMS funds [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) – A former sheriff is accused of using emergency medical service funds to buy classic cars, according to Indiana State Police.

Indiana State Police investigators have seized six classic cars belonging to former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel. According to a search warrant, police are looking for 1960s and 1970s Pontiac, Chevrolet and Plymouth cars.

The warrant said investigators noticed someone requested duplicate titles for several vehicles in Noel’s name. Investigators said that could indicate an intent to sell some of Noel’s car collection.

Title records show Noel purchased some vehicles with New Chapel EMS funds, as well as money from his late brother’s estate, according to court records. Heirs of William “Leon” Noel have reopened that estate case seeking to recover money they accuse Noel of stealing from the estate.
