Ober employee hospitalized after falling from mountain coaster [Video]

The 25-year-old was an employee of Ober Mountain who was working on the coaster, the director of communications for Gatlinburg said.

GATLINBURG, Tenn. — At around 12:18 p.m. on Wednesday, the Gatlinburg Fire Department was sent to Ober Mountain in response to a person who had “fallen on the hillside at the attraction’s mountain coaster,” Seth Butler, director of operations and communications for the city of Gatlinburg, said.

The 25-year-old who had fallen was an employee of Ober Mountain who was working on the coaster, Butler said.

The employee had suffered a medical emergency and fell down the hill around 20 to 25 feet. After the fall, the man called other Ober employees to notify them of his injuries.

The employee complained of neck and back pain, along with a cut to his head.
