KFD works house fire in West Knoxville, 1 person hospitalized [Video]

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — One woman is in the hospital, three dogs are safe and one cat is missing after a house fire on Burwood Road early Friday morning, according to the Knoxville Fire Department. 

At 3:04 a.m., the Knox County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call about a reported house fire in the 4100 block of Cottonwood Drive. The caller was not sure of the exact address, KFD said.

After arriving on the scene, KFD found the house fire at the corner of Cottonwood Drive and Burwood Road.

As crews were getting ready to put out the fire, they saw a woman escape from the bedroom window. She was then treated for injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
