YUMA, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) – A 19-year-old man from Arizona who lost his right arm in a work accident wants people to see that the incident hasn’t slowed him down.
It was just another work day for 19-year-old Blake Thomas when a freak accident forced him into survival mode to help save his own life. While working at his family’s construction company on July 17, he made a call he never thought he’d have to make, KPHO reports.
“While I was working inside the conveyor belt clearing the rocks away, the belt was turned on, and I had to make a split-second decision,” Thomas said. “Well, I’m either going to lose my arm or my head is going to get cut off, so I chose the arm.”
