LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville EMS Week started Monday to honor Emergency Medical Service members.
The theme this year for EMS Week is “Honoring Our Past. Forging Our Future.” Through May 25, there will be themed days, including Education Day, EMS Safety Day, EMS for Children Day and Save-A-Life Day.
The Big Four Bridge will also be lit to honor the medical professionals.
The EMS system is made up of emergency medical technicians, advanced EMTs, paramedics and others who respond to emergencies in need of highly skilled pre-hospital care.
There are eight EMS providers in Louisville and Jefferson County.
