The Meridian City Council talks approval of a new grant [Video]

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -The Meridian City Council had a city council meeting in the city hall auditorium to discuss the latest approval on a grant.

The United States Department of Transportation granted the Safe Streets for All grant $160,000.

This grant will help examine conflict points, accidents, occurrences, and accident reports across the city.

“Right now, it will look at all the data that is available, look at the records, try to figure out from each accident report why it happened, and then at that point, we’ll apply for the next round of funding that will help with reconstruction, so you could probably list two to three off the top of your head we’ll be getting the stakeholders and getting all the accident reports and trying to decide which ones are a priority that the city needs to address,” says David Hodge, Director of Public Works.
