GRAND ISLE, La. — Police in Grand Isle say they have recovered the body of the 13-year-old boy who went missing in the waters off of Grand Isle.
Grand Isle Assistant Police Chief, Walter Theriot, confirms that the 13-year-old boy’s body was found about 3.5 miles from where he drowned near the Bridge Side Marina.
The boy went under the water near a rock jetty that was “very dangerous” and “conditions were rough”, Police Chief Walter Theriot said Saturday. “And I was advised that he could barely swim.”
Police say the boy’s body was recovered Sunday.
Assistant Chief Theriot also confirmed another child was pulled from the water a short time after the boy’s body was found.
