Changes come to Oregon and Jerusalem Twp. Advanced Life Support and Emergency Medical Services [Video]

LUCAS Co., Ohio (WTVG) – Monday marked the first day of a new system for Advanced Life Support and Emergency Medical Services out of Oregon and Jerusalem Township. This new system is the future for what ALS and EMS will look like in most cities and townships in Lucas County.

This comes after Lucas County commissioners approved an agreement in March that changed control of ALS services. Previously, ALS was controlled by the county, but this was turned over to local communities.

The new system gives each jurisdiction more emergency units that are capable of providing advanced services. Oregon went from having one life squad ALS unit, to now having two medic units that can provide ALS services.

Oregon Fire Chief Clayton O’Brien says that Oregon and Jerusalem residents won’t see much of a change.
