NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – PG&E announced that due to the elevated wildfire weather, they activated its Emergency Operation and alerted people in the target areas where PG&E might need to shut off the power.
Here is a list of potentially affected customers and counties in our area:
- Butte County: 277
- Glenn County: 361
- Shasta County: 8,888
- Tehama County: 1,873
Action News Now spoke with PG&E spokesperson Megan McFarland about PG&E potentially shutting off the power in our area.
“We want customers to know this is a wildfire prevention effort; a public safety power shut-off is the last resort,” McFarland said.
PG&E says they may begin shutting off power starting tomorrow morning, possibly continuing until Wednesday.
McFarland says there is a large wildfire risk, including; Shasta, Tehama, Glenn and Butte counties.
