Man drowns in Willamette River near West Linn boat ramp [Video]

WEST LINN Ore. (KPTV) – A man died by drowning in the Willamette River at West Linn on Friday afternoon, according to the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

At 3 p.m., firefighters responded to a West Linn boat ramp off Volpp Street after a 911 caller reported a person flailing in the water near the dock. The caller said the person had gone under the water and they couldn’t see the person anymore.

Water rescue crews arrived a few minutes later and began to search the deep, murky water.

They found the man and pulled him to shore, where they tried to resuscitate him, but were not successful and the man was declared dead.
