HARNEY COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) – A fire burning 55,000 acres about 20 miles northeast of Riley in Harney County triggered Level 3: “Go Now” evacuations for people on Sunday, according to fire officials.
At about 2:30 p.m., evacuations were issued for people living in both Harney and Grant counties as the Falls Fire is zero percent contained.

On Sunday morning, the Oregon State Fire Marshal invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act.
According to the Grant County Emergency Management, the Red Cross has opened a shelter for evacuees in John Day at the Grant County Fair Grounds in the Trowbridge Pavilion. They said the shelter also had space for a limited number of animals.
