Douglas County teen dies in crash near Clinton Lake a day after being reported missing [Video]

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Kan. (KCTV) – Deputies in Douglas County are working to close the road known as the dam road at Clinton Lake following a fatal crash.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 7:30 p.m. deputies were working to close East 900 Road. Locally, it’s known as the dam road at Clinton Lake. It’s being closed as the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team investigates a single-vehicle crash that involved a fatality.

An individual who discovered the vehicle called dispatchers at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday.

At 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office identified 17-year-old Brody Minton as the victim of the crash. Minton’s family members reported him missing on Monday and law enforcement had attempted to find him before getting the call Tuesday.
