7/22; 2:15 p.m.—The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office released injury updates for those involved in the car-buggy accident. 

“Both the operator of the vehicle, Chase Brewer and Rebecca Hershberger, who was controlling the horse and buggy, have been discharged from Wynn Hospital. The two other occupants in the buggy are in stable condition at Upstate University Hospital,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a release. 

7/22; 10 p.m.—Two children are in critical condition after the buggy they were in was struck on Route 12 Monday evening.

It happened just before 6:30, north of the Glass Factory Road ramp in Deerfield.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Chase Brewer of Mohawk hit a buggy driven by 19-year-old Rebecca Hershberger of Poland when he attempted to pass a car.

He struck the buggy from behind.

Hershberger was last reported in critical but stable condition at Wynn Hospital.
