DNR: 95% of ATV riders killed in crashes didnt wear a helmet [Video]

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – A serious message for ATV and UTV riders comes from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

The DNR says so far this year Wisconsin has lost 20 people to ATV or UTV crashes. Another 73 people have been hurt in a crash.

It also says 95% of victims killed in ATV and UTV crashes last year weren’t wearing a helmet.

The DNR says safety comes first when going out for a ride, and officials say that safety begins at home.

Talk with your family and friends about the importance of wearing safety equipment.

The DNR says choosing not to wear safety equipment is often illegal and could change your life.
