Hartford police arrest driver for deadly hit-and-run [Video]

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – A man was arrested for a hit-and-run that killed a 23-year-old woman in Hartford over the weekend.

Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Clarence Cross of Hartford.

They charged him with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle. evading responsibility involving death, reckless driving, operating without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and illegal operation of a motor vehicle without insurance.

The victim was identified by Hartford police as Tonyque Davis of Portland, and she had to be extricated by fire crews at the scene.

Officers said they responded at 6:10 a.m. on Sunday to the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Adelaide Street after they received reports of a crash between an SUV and a minivan.

The SUV rolled over, and Davis was found unresponsive behind the wheel.
