Samantha Cope Reflected on ‘Clarity’ Days After Separation from Joey Lawrence [Video]

In the days following Samantha Cope and Joey Lawrence‘s split, the actress was reflecting on the themes of loss in her life.

On Aug. 13, Cope, 37, filed for divorce from Lawrence after just two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. She listed their date of separation as June 7, 2024.

In an Instagram post from June 11, just four days after they quietly separated, she shared a quote along with several photos of her and her 19-month-old daughter Dylan, whom she shares with her Lawrence, calling the collection of images her “favs lately.”

The quote from writer Brianna Wiest began, “Not everything you lose is a loss. Some things are freedom. Some things are a second chance. Some things are a miracle in disguise. Some things are a detachment long-needed, a clarity brought to blurry eyes.”

The quote went on to reference an “intervention” and an “unexpected answer to a long-chanted prayer.”
