NASHVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) — A man was shot Monday morning after pulling out a gun on Nash County sheriff’s deputies.

It happened around midnight on Reges Store Road just north of Highway 64.

According to the Nash County sheriff, deputies were issuing a warrant at a home when they were fired upon by James Breheim. That’s when two deputies fired back.

He was taken to WakeMed for their injuries. No officers were injured, the sheriff confirmed. The sheriff said Breheim will face charges once he is released from the hospital.

The incident remains under investigation and the two deputies have been placed on administrative leave as is protocol.
