A gentleman always and forever -Tributespour in for Sligo man who tragically died in motorbike crash in Canada [Video]

TRIBUTES are pouring in for a young Sligo man who suddenly passed away in Canada.

Anthony McGwynne was just 27 years old when he was involved in a road accident while riding his motorbike.

Originally from Loughanelton in Calry, Co. Sligo, the young man was killed when the motorbike he was travelling on was struck by a car on Arbutus Street in Vancouver.

The incident took place shortly before 9:30pm on Thursday night.

Despite life-saving efforts by bystanders and paramedics, the Sligo native was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital for treatment.

In a death notice on RIP.ie, Anthony was described as the “dearly loved son” of dad Tony and mum Bernadette, the brother of James, Maeve and Matthew and partner of Antonella. 

It said he passed away “following an accident in Canada”.
