Above ground Metro Rail will be temporarily paused [Video]

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The NFTA has announced that they will be temporarily shutting down the above ground section of the Metro Rail services. 

The shut down will start on Tuesday, May 28 and remain closed until Sunday, June 2 due to construction taking place. The halt of the services is necessary because they will be working on the electrical system. 

This will enhance the safety and reliability of the system for riders and employees. “During this time, crews will be working diligently to modernize and fortify track infrastructure, ensuring a smooth and safe travel experience for passengers. These upgrades are part of the NFTA’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of service and safety for the community,” the NFTA said in a release.
