AI in education: How Eastern Kentucky University plans to use the resource to enhance education [Video]

RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) — Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essentially a basic part of life for most people, including students. There are talks at Eastern Kentucky University on how to best use generative AI as a resource for education.

Dr. Lisa Blue is an instructional specialist for the EKU Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, and she’s been participating in the discussion on how EKU will continue to use generative AI.

 “I had a fellow faculty member lament, what is education when software can answer every question. Software can’t answer every question, it still can’t do the critical thinking skills, and it can’t offer strong stances or viewpoints because that’s uniquely human,” Blue said.

The plan for EKU is to stay with the times and look at policies for the fall semester that help determine what fields should be ‘ai resilient’, and what fields benefit from it most.
