American Red Cross opens evacuation shelter in Healy [Video]

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – The American Red Cross of Alaska along with the Denali Borough, have set up an evacuation shelter for the hundreds of displaced residents as a result of The Riley Fire.

The Red Cross began managing the shelter at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, at Tri-Valley High. The shelter is open to anyone seeking assistance.

Emergency management and government officials are working closely with the Red Cross. They recommend bringing essential items for each family member such as medications, foods that meet dietary restrictions, clothing and hygiene products, along with forms of entertainment.
