Anchorage Fire Department offers free helmets to keep kids safe while riding | Homepage [Video]

Free bicycle helmets are now being offered to kids and teens in Anchorage.

They’re being given out at all Anchorage Fire Department stations. The goal of the giveaway is to keep kiddos safe while they’re out riding this summer.

Your Alaska Link stopped by Station 1 where some kids were stopping by to grab helmets.

“AFD, Providence, and Safe Kids Alaska are really happy to help the public and were happy to get helmets out there on people’s heads who need them. So come on by and were happy to get you fitted with a helmet,” said AFD Captain Dustin Molle.

Parents: If you want a helmet for your child, make sure to bring them by the fire station with you so their new helmet can be fitted and adjusted.

Supplies are also limited. So maybe stop by sooner rather than later.

This program is made possible by Safe Kids Alaska, the Anchorage Fire Department, and Anchorage Fire Fighters …
