Arrest made in case of missing Laurel woman found dead [Video]

A Billings woman is accused of fatally striking a woman while driving an SUV near Laurel earlier this year.

Amber Dawn Walter has been charged in Yellowstone County District Court with failing to stop at a fatal accident, and failing to give notice of an accident. The 40-year-old allegedly hit Kassi McColley, whose body was found days later to the east of Laurel near Interstate 90. Walter was booked into Yellowstone County Detention Facility on Tuesday, and is scheduled to make her initial appearance in court Thursday. 

In early February, the Laurel Police Department announced a search was underway for McColley, a Laurel resident who was last seen alive Jan. 31. The search spanned four days, and included assistance from volunteers, LPD and the Yellowstone County …
