At least 10 people hurt in shooting near UW-Madison [Video]

At least 10 people were hurt after a shooting at a rooftop party in downtown Madison early Sunday. “It is truly a miracle that no one is dead,” Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said during a morning news conference. The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. at the Lux high-rise apartment building on Johnson Street, just blocks from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Officers at the scene reported dozens of people screaming and running out of the complex.”They (officers) found some people in various stages of distress and some were even hiding in a maintenance closet in an attempt to find safety,” Barnes said.Nine people suffered gunshot wounds or a graze and one other person was injured by broken glass.
