Auburn police lift shelter in place order after gunshots and explosions reported [Video]

UPDATE: Maine State Police will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. updating the public on the incident, according to a 10:19 a.m. email to the press from Shannon Moss, Maine Public Safety spokesperson. Moss said the Office of the State Fire Marshal and Attorney General’s Office, as well as state and local police, are investigating.

UPDATE: Police have issued a statement saying the situation has been resolved and that the shelter-in-place order has been lifted. “There is no danger to the public,” the statement says. “There will continue to be a heavy police and fire presence around the scene. Officials ask the public to avoid the area if possible.”
