Authorities investigate fire that destroyed Bay County trucking company | Local [Video]

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) – A major fire destroyed MacFarlane Trucking and Excavating in Bay County on Thursday night.

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. at 930 N. Wagner Road in the Essexville area — a short distance from the Hampton Township Department of Public Safety station. The building was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.

Smoke was visible for miles as flames consumed trucks and a storage building. Fire crews from across the Great Lakes Bay Region remained on the scene until until 2 a.m. Friday to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters were called back to the scene around 7:30 a.m. Friday after flames were visible again in the debris. Only charred remains of the building and several semi-trucks inside were left Friday evening.
