BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Fire Department is asking members of the community to practice fire safety as grass fires increase around town.
BFD issued a warning to the community, especially those near large dry brush and grass areas, to clear defensible space of 100 feet around their property.

The warning comes just a day after Bakersfield’s Amazon facility was evacuated due to a brush fire. Evacuation orders were also issued for Wofford Heights and Maricopa this month.
