Baraka Okojie sidelined with shoulder injry [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn — Memphis Tigers basketball faces its first adversity of the 2024 season. Guard Baraka Okojie will miss the rest of the offseason while he rehabs a shoulder injury, a team spokesman told ABC24.

The spokesman did not specify what the injury was, but that it was to Okojie’s left shoulder. The guard, who transferred from George Mason this offseason, had surgery on the shoulder early the week of June 10. He will miss four to five months, but should be available at or near the start of the 2024-2025 basketball season.

Okojie was the fifth player to commit to Memphis for the upcoming season and recently officially signed with the university. At George Mason he averaged 8.1 points, 2.4 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in his 2023-2024 freshman season.
