Bentonville trails and parks slowly reopening [Video]

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Bentonville trails and parks are slowly reopening after storm and tornado damage left most of them unusable.

As of June 10, the City of Bentonville reported that 18 of 23 public parks were open, and 16 of 26 trails were open, a news release states.

Disaster Recovery Center opens in Bentonville

“While the tornado has caused some damage, leading to limited access to our local trails, we are pleased to inform you that Bentonville’s trails are reopening weekly, and there are still excellent biking and hiking options available nearby,” a news release states. “Northwest Arkansas consists of over 200 miles of trails that have easy access to Bentonville. The trails in Bella Vista and Fayetteville were untouched by the storm and are open for use.”

A Bentonville nonprofit, Trailblazers, is helping clean up the trails alongside the City of Bentonville and Bentonville Parks & Recreation.
