Bettendorf motorcyclist seriously injured in Scott County crash [Video]

A Bettendorf motorcyclist who has not been identified was injured Thursday night in Scott County, according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

About 7:30 p.m., the Scott Emergency Communication Center received a call of a motorcycle accident at the intersection of 115th Avenue and New Liberty Road. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and an investigation was conducted.

The initial investigation found that a 2003 Harley Davidson was traveling south on 115th Avenue, approaching the intersection of New Liberty Road. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as a 46 year-old Bettendorf man, appears to have lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to skid along the road.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and was seriously injured. He was transported by MedForce to University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, for treatment. His condition was unknown late …
