Black bear sightings increasing in the Upstate [Video]

Black bear sightings have been increasing in the Upstate at this time of year. A representative from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said it’s because of the increase in door cameras and development projects. “Just like if you build in an area, you’re going to see more deer, you’re going to see more bears and wildlife,” Paris Mountain Park Ranger Madison Trump said. “They’re just like us. They’re curious, so they want to see what’s kind of going on.”Black Bears come out of hibernation in April, so Spring and early Summer are the busiest times of the year for bear sightings, according to SC DNR. One Greenville resident said she’s had multiple bear sightings this year. “This is probably the third or fourth time that she’s been in the yard,” Jana Motes said.” So yeah, just very shocked that she is in our yard here in a neighborhood.”Motes …
