ORANGE, Texas — Orange Police are investigating the discovery of a body around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1.

The body was found near the Welcome Center in Orange at the Louisiana border.

Orange Fire and the Department of Public Safety assisted Orange Police at the scene.

12News crew on the scene on Monday saw Orange County Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Judge Hershel Stagner, Jr. at the scene.

12News reached out to the Orange Police Department and was told nothing would be released today, but investigators anticipate releasing information tomorrow.

The name of the victim has not been released yet.
