SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP/Gray News) – A Florida family is asking for prayers as their 2-year-old recovers from third-degree burns.
Rivers Hunter is recovering after he suffered third-degree burns on 30% of his body. His mother, Paige Hunter, says a pot of boiling food fell on the 2-year-old while she was cooking June 26, WJHG reports.
Since the accident, Rivers’ parents have been by his side in the hospital, hours away from home. The Hunters have two other children and each run their own business. They say people from their hometown of Santa Rosa Beach are helping them get through this challenging time.
“People know 30A and Santa Rosa Beach as a big tourist place. That’s what people look at it as, but the locals that live here are – it’s our home. We’re all one community, one unit,” Paige Hunter said.
