BPD investigate overnight fatal accident on Niagara Street [Video]

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – An overnight accident on Niagara Street near Fargo Avenue in the City of Buffalo has left a 21-year-old Buffalo male dead.

According to the Buffalo Police Department, Central District officers responded to the call just before 12:45 a.m. ET on Wednesday. Upon arrival, accident investigators say a white Dodge Durango was traveling South on Niagara Street when it struck a possible skateboarder.

The 21-year-old Buffalo male that was struck was declared deceased at the scene.

Authorities say the Dodge Durango continued traveling on Niagara Street before striking a parked vehicle. At that time, authorities say the driver fled on foot.

Buffalo police say the Durango is currently in police custody, and officials have questioned an individual in connection with the incident.
