Bras Across the Bridge event helps raise awareness, celebrate breast cancer survivors [Video]

More than 100 central Pa. breast cancer survivors came together to celebrate at the Bras Across the Bridge fundraising event at City Island on Thursday evening.

The event not only celebrates those who have survived breast cancer but its purpose is also to help bring awareness to breast health while raising money to support the organization.

Many of the survivors and supporters of the cause walked with a chain of about 1,000 connected bras, parading across the Walnut Street bridge. The bra chain was to serve as a reminder of their hard-fought journey.

After the ceremony, a celebration of survivors was held at the Harrisburg Beach Club featuring food, drinks and dancing.

The money raised today from participants, donors, and survivors will help Bras Across the Bridge provide lifesaving funds to Feel Your Boobies® Foundation.
