Buchanan County teacher identified as victim in lawnmower accident [Video]

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – The man who died after being pinned under a lawnmower has been identified as a teacher with the Bosco Catholic School System.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says they got a report of an accident involving equipment around 12:50 p.m Thursday. Emergency crews quickly responded to the 1,000 block of 160th Street north of Jesup.

The Sheriff’s Office says the man was trying to put a commercial-grade lawnmower onto a trailer when it tipped off and rolled, landing on top of him. While crews worked quickly to get the man out and tried to save him, he died from his injuries.

Jake Knepper was identified as the victim of the accident by Bosco Catholic School System yesterday on their Facebook page. The school held a mass, vigil, and support circle for loved ones to take part in.
