Grave fears are held for a woman in her twenties who fell from a waterfall in the NSW Southern Highlands.
In a separate incident in Queensland on Sunday, a 27-year-old man was unable to be revived after falling several metres from a waterfall outside Cairns.
Police and NSW State and Emergency Service crews spent Sunday afternoon searching Belmore Falls and Barrengarry Creek for the woman after receiving reports she had fallen into the water about 1pm, a NSW Police spokesman said.
The waterfall, which plunges about 77 to 130 metres across three drops, is a popular attraction for tourists.
The search was called off on Sunday evening due to fading light, the spokesman said, but will resume early Monday morning.
